About this board game
Ticket to Ride: Germany is a standalone route-claiming board game for 2–5 players, with play lasting about 60 minutes.
Players collect cards and use them to claim routes on a map between two cities. The aim is to create a network that connects the cities shown on your secret ticket cards. Claiming routes earns points, while completing tickets adds more to your score; unfinished tickets count against you.
Ticket to Ride: Germany also introduces a passenger-scoring system. Whenever you place a route, you claim a passenger from each of its two endpoint cities, provided those passengers have not already been claimed.
- Collect cards to claim routes between cities.
- Complete secret tickets for additional points.
- Claim available passengers from route endpoints.
- Compete for majorities among six passenger colors.
At the end of the game, the player with the most passengers in each of the six colors scores 20 points for that color. The second-most passengers earn 10 points, making passenger collection an important part of final scoring alongside routes and tickets.
This 2017 release combines most of Zug um Zug: Deutschland and the Deutschland 1902 expansion in one box. It uses the same map as Ticket to Ride: Märklin, while incorporating the different passenger-scoring method introduced by the expansion. The player with the highest total score wins.
