About this board game

Time Division is a two-player card game played in about 60 minutes, in which rivals compete to control an era by gathering the most influential characters. Released in 2023, it offers a standalone game in one era or a campaign spanning all three.

Each era features 18 character cards, with unique effects that shape the tactical possibilities. The game is divided into two major phases: Draft and Play.

  • Draft: Both players simultaneously distribute three cards at a time between themselves, their rival, and the Independent Stack until all 18 Era Characters have been distributed.
  • Play: Across six rounds, each player plays one card. The player whose card has higher influence decides what happens to both played cards.

The player with the higher-influence card chooses which of the two cards is triggered by their player for its effect and which is moved to their Influence Area. A coin determines who makes this decision, while also indicating who must play first in the following round.

Success depends on more than simply collecting powerful characters. The way cards are drafted and played determines which options become available and how influence develops over the course of the game. Since every era and character introduces unique effects, each setting calls for a different tactical approach.

Play through Ancient Egypt, the Dark Ages, or the 80s as a single experience, or connect all three into a campaign. With simultaneous card distribution, contested decisions, and six focused rounds of play, Time Division gives both players meaningful choices from the opening draft through the final influence calculation.
