About this board game

Time Bomb is a secret-identity game for 4–8 players that plays in approximately 30 minutes. Agents must reveal all the success cards to defuse the bomb, while Terrorists aim to reveal the explosion card.

At the beginning of the game, each player is secretly assigned the identity of Agent or Terrorist. Players receive wire cards, look at them, and then shuffle them, creating uncertainty about which cards may help defuse the bomb and which may bring the game to an explosive end.

The game unfolds over a maximum of four rounds. Starting with the first player, participants select a secret card and play it. Every card has an action, and players continue taking actions in this way as they try to advance their hidden team’s goal while keeping their own identity concealed.

  • Agents win when all the success cards are revealed.
  • Terrorists win if the explosion card is revealed.
  • Terrorists also win if the fourth round ends without the bomb being defused.

With limited time, hidden loyalties, and secret cards constantly entering play, every choice can influence the bomb’s outcome. Players must interpret the available information, follow each action carefully, and determine whether the group is moving toward safety or disaster.

Released in 2016, Time Bomb offers a focused contest between two secret teams, with the result decided by card reveals and the pace of the four-round game.
