About this board game

Timeline Challenge is a historical card game for 2–10 players that takes about 30 minutes to play. Players race through a progressive game track while placing historical events in chronological order.

The game includes 110 cards, each depicting a historical event on both sides. The year appears on only one side, so players must choose where a card belongs in the timeline before revealing its date.

On a turn, a player places a card from their hand into the chronological row on the table and then checks the date. A correctly placed card remains in play; an incorrect card is removed, and the player draws another card from the deck. The first player to get rid of all their cards by placing them correctly wins, although simultaneous players who go out may face a further bonus round.

Timeline Challenge expands the original Timeline mechanism with movement and varied tasks. Players can move between 0 and 4 spaces per turn, use predetermined time periods, and guess where the incident depicted on a card occurred.

• Four different challenges are played according to the color of the lead player’s game space.
• Two additional challenges give the two players at the back of the pack a chance to catch up.
• The included cards can be combined with any or all previous Timeline sets.
