Timeline: Science & Discoveries

About this board game

Timeline: Science & Discoveries is a card game for 2–8 players that takes about 15 minutes to play. Using 110 cards, players compete to place discoveries in the correct chronological order.

Each card shows a discovery on both sides, but only one side displays the year it occurred. On your turn, choose a card from your hand and place it into the growing row of cards on the table. You then reveal its date to check whether it fits correctly among the other discoveries.

If the card is in the right position, it remains in the timeline. If it is not, the card is removed from play, and you take another card from the deck. The goal is to get rid of every card in your hand by placing each one correctly.

The first player to successfully play all their cards wins. If several players run out of cards in the same round, those players continue in a bonus round, while everyone else is eliminated. Each remaining player receives one more card, and play continues until a single player goes out.

Timeline: Science & Discoveries can also be combined with other titles in the Timeline series. It is integratable with Timeline: General Interest, Timeline: Events, Timeline: Inventions, Timeline: Music & Cinema, Timeline: American History, and Timeline: Americana.
