About this board game
Titania is a board game for 2–4 players with an approximate play time of 60 minutes, released in 2010. Players place ships across the map of Titania, collect shells, and work to rebuild towers before refurbishing them with starfish.
Each turn presents a meaningful choice: players can either take cards or use cards to place ships. The cards are color-coded to match the ships being placed, connecting the cards in hand with the positions players can occupy on the map.
To build a tower, players place ships next to it and pay using different colored shells. This creates a clear relationship between ship placement, shell collection, and the construction of towers. After towers are rebuilt, starfish are used to refurbish them.
- Place ships on the map by playing matching cards.
- Collect shells and pay with different colors when building towers.
- Rebuild towers by positioning ships beside them.
- Refurbish towers with starfish.
The map uses a hexagonal grid filled with different symbols. These symbols show the rewards available for building as well as the spaces where towers can be built, giving the map an important role in every placement decision.
With its combination of card choices, color-coded ship placement, shell collection, and tower construction, Titania offers a focused map-based game for groups of two to four players. Every turn asks players to decide whether to expand their options by taking cards or advance their plans by placing ships.
