About this board game
Titans of Industry is a worker-placement and resource-management Euro-style game for 3–6 players, played in approximately 120 minutes. Set in the 1920s, it challenges players to build factories and businesses, produce goods, and sell them for money and victory points.
Each player begins with four workers and $6,000. Every turn, players first buy buildings, then place their workers on those buildings or elsewhere on the board. Factories enable production, while Businesses provide ways to sell goods for money or victory points.
Success depends on maintaining a careful balance between investment, production, sales, and goals. Players can encourage others to sell alongside them to maximize sales, while board spaces offer useful bonuses such as extra production, building improvements, and Corporate Strategy cards.
- Invest in factories and businesses to develop your industrial operation.
- Place workers to produce goods, sell goods, and access board bonuses.
- Use Corporate Strategy cards to pursue additional victory-point goals.
- Manage your finances carefully before upkeep is due.
Upkeep occurs three times, in 1923, 1925, and 1927. Players must pay to maintain their buildings or take out loans, and loans are worth negative victory points at the end of the game. Selling enough goods before each payment is essential to protecting your final score.
After 1927, victory points from sales, buildings, and Corporate Strategy cards are combined. In Titans of Industry, the player who best manages buildings, money, production, and long-term goals across seven years becomes the winner.
