About this board game
Tom Tube is a two-player board game with a playing time of about 30 minutes, set on Ganymede, the moon of Jupiter. Tom and Dave are building a space station, with the base and solar modules already constructed.
Players take turns placing tubes and moving through the developing station or through space. The aim is to collect valuable counters and return to your base quickly while carrying your two solar counters.
The player who picks up more valuable counters and gets back to their base more quickly with their two solar counters wins the game. This creates a contest that combines route development, movement, collection, and the pressure of making a successful return journey.
Tom Tube stands out through its unusual board structure. Rhombs and triangles form a complex tessellation, creating a mind-puzzling network of possible ways through space.
- Players: 2
- Playing time: 30 minutes
- Setting: Ganymede, the moon of Jupiter
- Core actions: Place tubes, move through tubes or space, collect valuable counters, and return to base
As the tube network takes shape, the station becomes a challenging structure to navigate. Every turn contributes to the changing paths through space while the players work toward the same objective: collecting valuable counters and bringing the required solar counters home.
With its distinctive rhombus-and-triangle design and focused two-player format, Tom Tube offers a compact spatial challenge built around constructing and traversing a tube-based space station.
