About this board game

Tower of Doubt is a two-player board game played in about 20 minutes, featuring hidden information, bluffing, and tactical tower claiming.

At the start, six four-sided towers are placed on the board. Each player can see only two sides of every tower—and the two sides visible to one player are hidden from the opponent. This divided information makes every decision uncertain: each player must assess what may be concealed beyond the other player’s view.

The sides of each tower are colored yellow or black. Across the six towers, the possible arrangements include:

  • All four sides yellow
  • Three sides yellow
  • Two opposite sides yellow
  • Two adjacent sides yellow
  • One side yellow
  • No sides yellow

Players place colored blocks on the towers during the game. These blocks serve two purposes: they can act as bluffing devices and as ways to claim towers. Since neither player has complete information, placing a block can communicate confidence, conceal an assessment, or create doubt about a tower’s true value.

Each player is trying to collect as many yellow sides as possible. At the end of the round, both players claim two towers, turning their deductions and bluffs into the final outcome.

With its compact play time and strictly two-player format, Tower of Doubt focuses on reading incomplete information and judging when a tower is worth pursuing. The tension comes from seeing only part of the picture while knowing that your opponent holds the missing details.
