About this board game

Tower of Madness is a Lovecraft-inspired push-your-luck dice game for 3–5 players, played in about 45 minutes. Investigate horrific locations, uncover paranormal gates, and seek the knowledge needed to save humanity before the world ends.

At the heart of the game stands a three-dimensional clock tower, roughly a foot tall and filled with marbles in four distinct colors. Thirty unworldly tentacles press through its walls, creating a tense physical challenge alongside the investigation dice rolls.

When an investigation roll fails, you must draw a tentacle from the tower. The marbles that fall can immediately affect your character, potentially increasing your discovery total, granting spells and forbidden knowledge, or adding madness. But beware the three DOOM marbles: drop one, and Cthulhu rises to end the game.

  • A three-dimensional clock tower filled with colored marbles
  • Thirty tentacles that make every draw risky
  • A deck of horrific locations, each with a unique dice challenge
  • Discovery, spells, knowledge, and madness shaped by falling marbles

Investigate every location in the deck and balance your desire for discovery against the danger of pushing your luck. The player with the most discovery points becomes the hero and wins the game.

If a DOOM marble falls first, the investigators do not triumph. Instead, the insane players share a brief moment of victory as Cthulhu destroys the world—and eats them last as their reward. With its tactile tower, escalating risk, and unsettling theme, Tower of Madness turns every tentacle draw into a potentially disastrous decision.
