Treasure Hunter

About this board game

Treasure Hunter is a drafting and treasure-collecting game for 2–6 players, played over five rounds and released in 2015. Your goal is to gather as much valuable treasure and as many coins as possible before the game ends.

At the beginning of play, treasures are placed on the board. Each season offers only two available treasures, so timing and careful card selection matter. Not everything that appears to be treasure is truly valuable, adding another consideration to every decision.

Players begin drafting with a hand of nine cards. Each round, everyone selects one card and passes the remaining hand to the left or right, depending on the round being played. By the end of the draft, every player has built a new hand of nine cards while gaining some information about what other players may hold.

• Draft from hands of nine cards.
• Pass cards in the required direction for each round.
• Compete for two treasures in each of three seasons.
• Collect valuable treasure and coins while watching for false treasure.

Once drafting is complete, players must play all nine cards from their drafted hand for every season in which they have cards. This remains true whether or not they want one of the two treasures available. The result is a game where every drafted card can matter, even when it does not lead directly to the prize you hoped to claim.

With limited treasures, shared information, and a full hand of cards to put into play, Treasure Hunter challenges players to draft wisely and make the most of every opportunity across its three seasons.
