About this board game
Trenchzone is a two-player strategy game for a 60-minute battle of attack and counterattack set in the trenches of World War One. Commanders face a muddy no-man’s land, fortified trench sectors, and the constant pressure of a shifting front.
Victory can come through a bloody assault, driving your opponent from one of their trench sectors. It can also be achieved by eroding enemy morale through the sustained impact of artillery, gas attacks, and machine gun fire across the trenchzone front.
Each battle begins with the initial placement of artillery positions, pillboxes, barbed wire, and squads. From there, every sector may be reinforced or reduced by your orders and by your opponent’s actions. Cards placed into a sector can make new resources available, encouraging you to adapt as the battle develops.
- Strategic attack-and-counterattack gameplay
- Two paths to victory: seize a trench sector or erode morale
- Artillery positions, pillboxes, barbed wire, and squads
- Changing resources and battlefield conditions across multiple sectors
Trenchzone rewards careful planning, but a fixed battle plan may not survive contact with the opposing commander. You must decide whether to wait for reinforcements, strengthen a threatened sector, or take the initiative and advance across no-man’s land.
Released in 2010, Trenchzone focuses on the difficult choices of commanding a contested trench front. Will your forces break through with an assault, or will pressure from repeated attacks and bombardment wear down the enemy first?
