About this expansion
Trickerion: Dawn of Technology is a 2019 expansion for 1–4 players, with a play time of approximately 240 minutes. It adds two modules to Trickerion: Contraptions and Signature Tricks.
With the Contraptions module, Magicians can enhance their Workshops with up to four devices unique to their magic school. Contraptions are assembled as a Workshop Action, costing 1 Coin for each Contraption already in place, and can be activated at any time during your turn for a school-specific bonus.
Each Contraption has a stronger effect than the one below it. After a round, a Contraption with enough Shards beside it can be reactivated for the following turn, following a principle similar to the Magician Powers module. The most advanced Contraptions can even grant Fame simply when they are reactivated.
- 16 Contraptions with four unique illustrations
- Four board extensions
- Contraptions printed on 3mm blackcore cardboard
Signature Tricks offer another way to develop your performer. When learning a Trick from your own school, you may learn its Signature Trick instead if you meet the required Fame threshold. This upgraded version replaces the standard Trick in the deck; if another player has already learned that standard version, the Signature Trick no longer has a Fame Threshold.
Signature Tricks retain the component requirements of their original versions but also require Contraptions to prepare. In return, they provide improved numbers and a distinctive special power. For example, The Legendary Shark Tank allows its Trick markers to be aligned freely in the Theater, making it easier to create Links. Together, these modules give Trickerion: Dawn of Technology new ways to build workshops and stage more powerful performances.
