Triggs

About this board game

Triggs is a number-crossing card game for 2–4 players that plays in about 20 minutes. Each player uses a sheet showing the numbers 1–12 two to five times, racing to cross off every numbered space first.

On your turn, choose whether to draw cards, discard cards, or tick off numbered boxes. When drawing, take two cards from the face-down deck or the two face-up decks in any combination. Your hand can contain no more than ten cards.

• Draw: Take two cards from the available decks.
• Discard: Discard any number of cards, but only if they all show the same number.
• Tick off boxes: Name a value from 1–12, then play either a single card showing that value or a pair of cards whose values add up to it.

Each card or matching pair you play lets you cross off one space in the chosen number’s row. Completing the final box in a row earns an extra cross, and a well-timed play may let that bonus lead to another cross.

If you have no cards left after discarding or playing, draw five cards from the face-down pile. Managing your hand, choosing when to complete rows, and using single cards or pairs gives every turn a meaningful decision.

In Triggs, the goal is clear: be the first player to cross off all the squares on your sheet. Its compact playing time and straightforward turn options make the race easy to follow while leaving room for clever card play.
