About this board game

Trôl is a hunting board game for 2–5 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Players lead troll tribes into the wild, seeking food while trying to ensure that enough members survive to return.

Food is essential, but survival is only part of the challenge. Each tribe must come back with enough food to avoid elimination, while hunting trophies from slain monsters provide the prestige that can ultimately decide the winner.

At the end of the game, the tribes are assessed in a strict sequence:

1. The tribe that has brought back the least amount of food is eliminated.
2. Among the tribes still in contention, the one with the fewest surviving members is eliminated.
3. Of the remaining tribes, the tribe with the most prestige from hunting trophies wins.

This creates a clear balance between gathering provisions and keeping the tribe alive. A tribe may return with impressive trophies, but it must first secure enough food to avoid being eliminated and retain enough surviving members to remain in the competition.

Trôl combines a simple hunting premise with a multi-stage endgame in which food, survival, and monster trophies all matter. Its compact play time makes it a focused contest for groups of two to five players, with the 2017 release putting troll tribes, dangerous hunts, and prestige at the center of the experience.
