About this expansion
Tsukuyumi: Full Moon Down – Dark Crusade is a 3–5 player board game experience about a powerful force of transformed knights bringing its crusade into the moon’s inner core.
The Dark Crusade has only three units, even fewer than its righteous KG 03 brothers, but each brings exceptional power to the battlefield. These knights resisted Tsukuyumi’s transformation and now stand half Oni and half soldier, ready to impose their will on the war.
As part Oni themselves, the Dark Crusade can interact with and control the Oni. All Oni adjacent to Grendel count as Dark Crusade units, allowing them to be moved by the player and even perform attacks.
- Lilith: While she remains in play, areas containing Oni cannot be conquered.
- Samael: Every area he enters gains the Tsukuyumi area property.
- Baal: Stationed in his drop pod at the KG 01 home zone, he shoots anyone who comes near.
- Grendel: His atomic-bomb heart can be detonated to inflict enormous damage.
The Dark Crusade wants to dictate the pace from the beginning, drawing attention toward the moon and areas worth more victory points. Its small number of units demands a different approach from larger forces, while its Oni control and powerful abilities can dramatically reshape the conflict.
With organic mass patching their pierced battlesuits and Tsukuyumi’s power coursing through them, the knights of Dark Crusade bring a distinctive mix of control, aggression, and overwhelming damage to the battle.
