About this board game

Twin Palms is a tropical trick-taking card game for 2–5 players, played in about 60 minutes. Across 5–8 rounds, players bid on how many of the five tricks they expect to claim from their ten-card hands.

Every trick features a distinctive twist: each player plays two cards at once. The strongest play is a pair with matching numbers, with higher numbers beating lower ones. Among pairs, palm trees beat dolphins, dolphins beat sunglasses, and all of these outrank pairs made from different suits.

If no player plays a pair, the highest single card wins the trick. The game can use 1–3 suits, offering different difficulty levels and accommodating the number of players at the table. Each suit includes cards numbered 0–10 and a wild, with every card appearing twice.

  • Bid between 0 and 5 tricks at the start of each round.
  • Play two cards to each trick and compete through five tricks.
  • Score points by meeting your bid exactly.
  • If you bid more than zero but miss, score 1 point for every trick taken.
  • Place bets on your bids for an additional chance to gain or lose points.

Success in Twin Palms depends on judging the strength of your hand, timing your pairs, and deciding how much risk to accept. Bid carefully, because a precise prediction can be rewarding while an ambitious bet can cost you.

After the designated number of rounds, the player with the most points wins. With its paired-card play, changing suit configurations, and optional betting, this beach-themed escape puts a fresh spin on the traditional trick-taking format.
