About this board game

Twisty Tracks is a railway route-building game for 1–4 players that takes about 30 minutes. Build winding paths through your personal track frame, send trains on long journeys, and decide when to push for valuable station arrivals.

Each player begins with a cardboard frame showing stations, loops of train track, and four train depots. Place a wooden train on each depot, then draw from your personal stack of fifteen face-down track tiles. On your turn, place a tile so that at least one of your trains can advance along the track.

Long journeys are rewarded: each time a moving train crosses the border between two tiles, or between a tile and the frame, you score 1 point. Loops can help trains travel farther and collect more border points, but the route is only part of the challenge.

Reaching one of the seven stations earns the highest value that remains unclaimed for that station. Arrive too late, however, and there may be no points left. If two of your trains collide while moving on freshly laid tracks, they score for the borders they crossed before both are removed from play.

  • Build: Place fifteen track tiles to shape your routes.
  • Travel: Advance trains through loops and across tile borders for points.
  • Race: Claim station values before other players reach them.
  • Adapt: Choose between station scoring, border scoring, or both for a different level of complexity.

When all four of your trains have reached stations or been removed, you stop placing tiles. Once every player’s trains have stopped moving, the player with the most points wins; in a tie, the tied player who placed more tiles prevails. Twisty Tracks also supports an easier game using only station scoring or only border scoring.
