About this board game
Ucho Króla, also known as King’s Ear, is a 45-minute board game for 2–6 players about courtly intrigue, rivalry, and the pursuit of prestige.
Rumors suggest that the king’s superintendent of finances is seriously ill and may soon leave the position vacant. Since only one courtier can take the coveted office, a secret confrontation begins among ambitious rivals seeking to improve their standing in the eyes of the King.
In Ucho Króla, every player must look for opportunities to weaken competitors and advance their own position. Courtiers can weave intrigues, ruin the authority of others, and use every plot or carefully delivered prompt to reach the right ears.
- Compete for the most prestige points.
- Undermine rival authorities through schemes and pointed exchanges.
- Use tact, good manners, sarcasm, irony, and cutting retorts to influence the struggle.
The contest has no room for hesitation. A well-aimed remark or a clever response to another courtier’s machinations can help clear the way toward greater riches and the superintendent’s title.
The position offers unlimited access to the King’s treasury, supposedly for satisfying the King’s needs. Yet once the office is within reach, more than royal necessities may be tempting to take. Victory belongs to the player who earns the most prestige while navigating the court with cunning, restraint, and impeccable social skill.
