Unconditional Surrender! World War 2 in Europe is a strategic World War II game for 2–4 players, with scenarios lasting from 30 minutes to 50 hours. Players make political decisions and command the military forces of the three major factions competing for dominance and survival in the European Theater.

The game focuses on the big picture: managing front lines, projecting force, and recognizing political opportunities. Its simple mechanics, low on-map counter density, and straightforward stacking rules keep attention on operational decisions rather than complicated subsystems or arithmetic-heavy calculations.

Historical detail remains central. National army levels, economic strength, and will to fight are modeled alongside events and capabilities including airdrops, Free Forces, jets, naval evacuation, partisans, radar, railroad artillery guns, and ULTRA. Historical and variable timelines offer different ways to experience the war.

Scenarios range from individual campaigns to longer games covering nearly the entire conflict. The two 22×34-inch maps, 840 counters, player aids, faction cards, flowcharts, rulebook, playbook, and three six-sided dice support the game’s wide strategic scope. Designed by Salvatore Vasta and developed by Mark Dey, Unconditional Surrender! is also solitaire friendly despite not including dedicated solitaire rules, and it can be played by email with frequent exchanges.
