About this board game
UNDO: Cherry Blossom Festival is a time-travel story game for 2–6 players, with a playing time of approximately 90 minutes. Players become disembodied destiny weavers, traveling through the past to try to prevent a sudden death.
In Okayama, Japan, in March 2000, a man in his sixties lies lifeless on his living-room floor. Nearby are a broken wine glass, a photograph of a young woman in a wheelchair, cherry blossom branches, and a telephone playing “Moonlight Sonata.” A barely perceptible scar above his eye is his only visible injury.
This is not a conventional murder mystery. Instead, players gradually assemble an emotional story by exploring the man’s past and making momentous decisions at different points in time. Each time jump offers another opportunity to change events, but not every change leads to a better outcome.
- Play as destiny weavers trying to prevent a sudden death.
- Travel minutes, hours, or even thousands of years through time.
- Use choices and newly revealed information to piece together an extraordinary story.
- Explore themes of love, loss, family, and the consequences of changing the past.
The UNDO series combines time travel with emotionally driven narratives that unfold piece by piece. A leap into the future may also provide information that helps illuminate earlier events, giving the group more possibilities to consider.
As the story of UNDO: Cherry Blossom Festival develops, every decision can influence whether the man lives or dies. This initial case in the UNDO series challenges players to look beyond the immediate tragedy and reshape the chain of events that led to it.
