About this board game

Urbania is a board game for 2–5 players that takes about 45 minutes, challenging players to renew a once-glorious city center and shape its future.

Build the new city upon the old by renewing buildings, hiring valuable specialists, and pursuing goals through hidden project cards. Every decision helps create a new urban landscape while bringing points, power, and prestige.

On each turn, players perform two actions, choosing from four options. The same action may be selected twice.

• Draw cards from the resource or project piles, or from the resource pool.
• Renew a building using resource cards.
• Hire a specialist from the pool or from another player.
• Submit a project, which remains hidden until the end of the game.

Resource cards feature construction helmet icons for renewing buildings and coin icons for hiring specialists. When renewing a building, cards with remaining coin icons stay in front of you for future hiring. Hiring a specialist with cards from your hand discards those cards, including any construction helmet icons they contain.

Scoring comes from several connected sources. Renewed buildings award points immediately, while specialists score at the end of your turn according to the number of built buildings of their type. At the game’s end, submitted projects reward different achievements, including renewing buildings in a particular area, renewing specific building types, or meeting specialist-value requirements.

In Urbania, the best redevelopment plan combines efficient resource use with careful timing and a clear vision for the city’s future.
