About this board game

Utópolis is a 2022 board game for 1–6 players, with an approximate play time of 70 minutes. In the country of Republia, the constitution is already in place; now its inhabitants must choose the capital.

Your goal is to build a sustainable, environmentally friendly city and reach the end of the scoring track at 40 wellness points. To get there, Utópolis combines two central mechanics: engine building and worker placement.

Every game offers different ways to create a point-generating engine. You can focus on collecting sets of particular building types, or develop a resource engine that grows more productive as your city reaches its final stage.

• Collect sets of pink and/or light blue buildings.
• Build a resource-generating engine.
• Produce exportable goods and people that turn those goods into points.

The set-collection approach rewards attention to the specified building types, while the resource-focused approach centers on developing production toward its final stage. These paths provide distinct strategies for working toward the 40-point destination.
