About this board game

Vampire Lords is a 1–4 player deck-building and area-control game with an approximately 120-minute play time, set in 15th-century Romania.

War ravages the land, Ottoman invasion threatens from beyond its borders, and noble bloodlines are locked in bitter feuds. From the shadows, powerful vampires emerge to claim dominion over the realm of mortals and rival the legend of Vlad Dracula.

Each player takes the role of a vampire lord, with asymmetric vampire factions offering different identities and approaches to the struggle. You might lead the cunning Dracula, the charismatic Radu, or the fearsome necromancer Erzsébet Báthory.

The game unfolds over four rounds, each divided into five distinct phases:

• Diplomacy
• Harvest
• Action
• Market
• Status

The action phase is the heart of Vampire Lords. Players alternate turns playing cards to command armies and vampire agents, contest towns, and expand their influence across Romania.

Cards enable you to hunt mortals, raise the undead, and wield dark blood magic in pursuit of power. Every command serves the larger goal of becoming the most feared and dominant vampire lord.

Victory requires gaining and maintaining control of five towns. If you are working in an alliance with another lord, the target rises to eight towns, creating an even broader contest for control. Will you rule the night, or be consumed by it?
