About this expansion

Villages of Valeria: Landmarks & Architects is a 2019 expansion for 2–5 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. It adds new ways to develop your village through landmarks, buildings, adventurers, and architects.

The central addition is a new follow opportunity: Build A Landmark. When you cannot—or choose not to—follow the lead action, you may instead discard a specific Building card from your hand. The resource icon at the bottom of that card determines which landmark token you take and place on your castle card.

Landmark tokens do not count as Buildings, but they create a strong end-game contest. The player with the most of each landmark type earns victory points, while every complete set of all five different Landmarks provides additional points.

• Use Building cards to establish landmark tokens, such as a Silo from a card showing a Food resource.
• Attract new Adventurers whose abilities trigger from the Landmarks you have collected.
• Expand your village with new Building cards featuring new powers.
• Pursue hidden end-game bonus points with the all-new Architect cards.

The expansion also includes custom wood tokens, plus The King’s Herald and Rahdo the Guild Master Adventurer promo cards. These additions give players more incentives to adapt their follow actions and balance landmark collection with village development.

Whether you are competing for the majority of a landmark type or assembling all five different types, Villages of Valeria: Landmarks & Architects broadens the strategic choices of the village-building game while offering new goals to pursue through the final scoring.
