About this expansion

Viticulture: Bordeaux Expansion is a board game expansion for 1–6 players, with a playing time of approximately 120 minutes. The Viticulture core game is required to play this expansion.

This Bordeaux alternative board introduces a starting boost and four full worker-placement seasons. A wake-up chart provides a range of benefits, adding new options to the flow of a game of Viticulture.

One of the expansion’s major additions is the expert action. This action permanently upgrades an action for the player who uses it, creating a lasting change to that player’s options. Existing actions are also revised for the Bordeaux board.

• End-game conversion of grapes, wine, and coins into victory points
• A wake-up chart filled with benefits

The expansion is compatible with most modules from other expansions, including Tuscany structures and special workers, Moor Visitors, and Rhine Valley. This makes the Bordeaux board an alternative foundation for games using those modules.

The new board also fits easily into the Viticulture box or the Wine Crate. Its reverse side is the original Viticulture board, allowing the new board to permanently replace the space occupied by the original board in the box.

Released in 2026, Viticulture: Bordeaux Expansion expands the core game with revised actions, new ways to select cards, and additional paths for turning resources into victory points.
