About this board game

Volcano is a puzzle-style board game for 1–6 players, with a playing time of about 30 minutes. Players move caps across a group of volcanoes, triggering eruptions that send colored streams of lava across the playing field.

The goal is to capture as many pieces as possible while earning bonus points for special combinations. Each move can change the flow of lava and create new opportunities, making careful planning an important part of the challenge.

Players compete to build the highest score, but reaching the lead is not enough. The game can be brought to a close before another player has the opportunity to steal that advantage, adding a sharp timing decision to the puzzle.

Multiplayer Volcano supports any number of players, although 2–6 players is recommended. It also offers a solitaire challenge for a single player, providing a way to explore the eruption puzzle alone.

First released in 2000, Volcano combines spatial movement, cascading colored lava, piece capture, and bonus scoring in one compact competitive puzzle. Its changing board state makes every eruption significant, whether you are trying to increase your own score or prevent an opponent from taking the lead.
