War of the 3 Sanchos 1065-67 is a 1-3-player strategy game with a 45-minute play time, in which the three King Sanchos compete for control across Castilla, Navarra, and Aragón.

Each Sancho seeks victory points by fortifying the castles and towers shown on the board with their pieces. Non-player Sanchos also compete, ensuring that every position in the game can matter even when fewer than three people are playing.

The game unfolds in rounds, with each player taking a turn during every round. At the start of a round, its commander plays a card from their hand. That card provides the commander with 1 to 3 command points to use during the round and explains the actions each other player must take on their turn, if possible.

• Home castle: 3 victory points, or 2 points in the solo game
• Neutral castle: 2 victory points
• Tower: 1 victory point

A Sancho wins a major victory immediately if they reach 10 or more victory points at any time. If no player reaches that total, the Sancho with the most points after the final card from all players’ hands has been resolved wins a minor victory.
