About this board game
Waterloo Solitaire is a solo board game for 1 player, designed for games lasting about 60 minutes. Across 24 games, you take command of either the French army or the Allied army while an autonomous BOT side controls your opponent.
The game divides its scenarios evenly between the two perspectives. You command Napoleon and the French army for 12 games against the Allied BOT side, then take the role of Wellington and command the Allies for 12 games against a French BOT side.
- 24 solo games in total
- 12 games as the French and 12 as the Allies
- Easy, medium, and hard BOT opponents, with four games at each skill level
- One pen and one six-sided die required for play
On each game turn, you choose one available player action for the side you command. You may also use a Combined Arms Tactics with a supporting action. Your decisions can create Die Roll Modifiers that affect attacks, with results that may eliminate units and trigger tactical events.
The French objective is to defeat the Allies by the end of the game by removing all units in two of the three Allied infantry formations. As the Allied commander, your objective is to avoid defeat until the game ends. Both sides also have additional ways to win or lose before the final turn.
With its opposing BOT actions, variable skill levels, and two contrasting command perspectives, Waterloo Solitaire offers a focused solo contest built around tactical choices, attack results, and the pressure of reaching your objective before the game concludes.
