About this board game

Wavelength is a social guessing game for 2–12 players that plays in about 45 minutes. Two teams compete to read each other’s minds by locating a hidden bullseye on a spectrum.

Each round, one player on a team becomes the Psychic. The Psychic knows exactly where the bullseye is and draws a card showing a pair of opposing concepts, such as Rough–Smooth, Fantasy–Sci-Fi, or Sad Song–Happy Song.

The Psychic must give a clue that falls conceptually in the bullseye’s position between those two ideas. If the spectrum is Hot–Cold and the target sits slightly toward cold, a clue such as “salad” could point the team toward the right area without revealing the exact answer.

• Draw a card with a pair of contrasting concepts.
• Give a clue based on the hidden bullseye’s position.
• Discuss the clue with your team and rotate the dial to your chosen location.
• Score points according to how close your guess is to the centre of the bullseye.

Success in Wavelength depends on interpretation, discussion, and the shared associations that connect a clue to a place on the spectrum. The Psychic must think conceptually, while the rest of the team weighs every possible meaning before committing to a position.

Released in 2019, Wavelength turns simple opposites into lively team conversations, with points rewarding the guess that comes closest to the hidden target.
