About this expansion
EuroFront: The War in Europe, 1936-45 – Second Edition is a World War II strategy game for 2–6 players, with a listed playing time of 600 minutes. A shorter scenario takes about 10 hours, while a complete game can take 60–100 hours.
This second edition expands the classic EuroFront system with the Northern Front, Middle East, and Turkey, covering the conflict between Germany and the Allies across a broader map of the war. Players must manage production, supply, command control, and weather while attempting to break opposing lines.
The game uses Columbia Games’ distinctive Block system. Wooden blocks stand upright, showing unit details only to their owner and creating a built-in fog of war. Blocks rotate to represent reductions in strength, keeping the condition of opposing forces concealed until revealed through play.
- Scenarios cover every major point of World War II.
- Additional forces include Finns, Swedes, Norwegians, and the Axis units that invaded Norway.
- New Middle Eastern units include Turkish and Iraqi troops.
- The game is part of a re-release of the EuroFront series, alongside EastFront: The War in Russia 1941-45 – Second Edition and WestFront II: The War in Europe 1943-45 – Second Edition.
EuroFront II combines concealed unit information with the pressures of logistics, command, production, and changing weather. Its range of scenarios supports focused engagements as well as a substantially longer campaign spanning the war in Europe and its surrounding fronts.
