About this expansion

Wild Space: Encounters is a game for 1–5 players with an approximate play time of 40 minutes, released in 2021. Empire explorers have discovered a new planet inhabited by peaceful, highly technologically advanced Aliens.

These unusual beings feed exclusively on minerals, creating a valuable opportunity for your Crew. To welcome them aboard, you must collect Quartz, a new resource introduced in Encounters. New Crew cards provide Quartz when played in front of you, helping you prepare for powerful recruitment opportunities.

At the end of your turn, Quartz gives you an additional option: spend it to recruit an Alien and add that card to your Crew. Aliens count as regular Crew cards, but their powerful abilities can enhance your combinations and bring new possibilities to your play.

• Collect Quartz from new Crew cards.

Encounters adds a fresh resource and a distinctive species to the Wild Space experience without separating Aliens from your regular Crew. Their abilities are designed to work with your existing cards, rewarding careful attention to when you gather Quartz and when you recruit.

The game includes a double-sided Planet tile, 22 Crew cards, 21 Alien cards, 20 plastic Quartz crystals, six double-sided Captain cards, six solo mode cards, and a rulebook. With its new resource, recruitable Aliens, and combo-enhancing abilities, Wild Space: Encounters offers a focused way to expand your Crew.
