About this expansion

Wildlands: The Adventuring Party is a game for 2–4 players with a playing time of 60 minutes, bringing a bold band of hardened wanderers to the Wildlands.

This adventuring party can replace one of the existing factions, giving players a distinctive way to approach the battlefield. Instead of assigning map cards to individual characters, the controlling player passes five cards to the player on their right and keeps the other five face down.

When revealing a character, the player may choose any location for which they have a map card, then discard that card. The faction also introduces the heal action, available exclusively to Thom the Cleric. Healing removes one damage token from a character in the same or an adjacent space, helping the party stay in the fight when hope seems lost.

  • Play the adventuring party as a replacement faction.
  • Reveal characters using flexible map-card choices.
  • Use Thom the Cleric to remove damage tokens.
  • Use the party as an encounter that attacks, steals, and causes chaos.

Alternatively, use the adventuring party with the Encounter rules. Set them up on the board at the start of the game, then reveal the top card of their deck at the end of each player’s turn. The character shown takes an action determined by that character and the relative board state.

As the game progresses, the troublesome band moves around the board, attacking characters and stealing crystal shards. With two ways to use them, Wildlands: The Adventuring Party adds either a flexible faction or an unpredictable threat to the battlefield.
