Wings of War: Deluxe Set is an introductory miniatures game for 2–4 players, with sessions lasting about 45 minutes. It combines core rules, altitude rules, bombing and strafing rules, and several additional scenarios in one set.
The set includes four planes, each supplied with its own card, maneuver deck, and stand. Players also receive a full collection of game aids, including four game boards, numerous counters, and two rulers for use during play.

Two “A” damage decks and one “B” damage deck are included alongside the maneuver decks. The additional scenarios and expanded rules provide varied ways to use the set, including scenarios featuring altitude, bombing, and strafing.
The pilots depend on the edition. The first edition was not released in English and features Manfred von Richthofen, Francesco Baracca, William G. Barker, and Ernst Udet. A second English edition with repainted miniatures features Manfred von Richthofen, Frank Luke Jr., Arthur Roy Brown, and Paul Bäumer.
As part of the Wings of War series, this Deluxe Set re-implements Wings of War and is also associated with Wings of War – Miniatures. Its combination of rules, player aids, scenarios, damage decks, and four distinct aircraft makes it a comprehensive introduction to the series.
