About this expansion

Wingspan: Americas Expansion is a bird-themed expansion for 1–5 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. Released in 2026, it explores the birds of Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.

This incredibly biodiverse region is home to more than 3,000 bird species, including both the world’s smallest and largest birds by wingspan: the Bee Hummingbird and Snowy Albatross. The expansion brings this remarkable variety to the Wingspan experience with a major selection of new bird cards.

Hummingbirds receive a special spotlight in this expansion. Representing about one tenth of Latin America’s bird species, these fast-moving birds are known for their shimmering feathers. Their inclusion introduces a new type of card that adds a fresh twist to gameplay.

  • 111 new bird cards
  • 40 hummingbird cards with related boards and mats
  • 8 new goal cards
  • 5 double-sided goal tiles
  • An Automa solo mode

With artwork by Natalia Rojas, Ana Maria Martinez Jaramillo, and Martha Clare, and design by Elizabeth Hargrave, the expansion highlights the abundance and diversity of the Americas. The cards and goals offer new content for players looking to broaden their bird collections.

Wingspan: Americas Expansion requires the core Wingspan game or Wingspan Asia, which is a standalone game for 1–2 players. Add it to your collection to explore a vivid new region and discover birds ranging from tiny hummingbirds to the majestic Snowy Albatross.
