About this board game
Winter Court is a card game for two players that takes about 60 minutes to play. Set during winter, it places two rival diplomats in a medieval castle where bad weather has confined the royal court to a single location.
Each diplomat must plot how to advance their agenda by spending influence wisely. Will you approach the royals directly, or first curry favor with other members of the court? Their powers can help shape the opinions and interests of those who matter most.
The court offers several possible routes to influence. The steward’s purse can provide extra influence, while the lover may sway the love-sick Prince. A knight can become a valuable ally when seeking either the ruler’s favor or the attention of the military-minded Princess.
- Steward: a potential source of extra influence
- Lover: able to sway the sighing Prince
- Knight: useful for pursuing the ruler or Princess
- Charlatan and fool: scheming and sarcastic assets within the court
Every approach raises a tactical question: who should you approach first, and which court member is worth winning over? The powers of the court can open different ways to manipulate the royals, but your influence is a resource that must be carefully managed.
With its focus on rival agendas, courtly alliances, and calculated influence, Winter Court presents a tense contest of manipulation for two diplomats trapped together until winter passes.
