About this board game
Witchcraft is a strategy game for two players, designed for a 40-minute battle between rival armies of ten wizards in a ruined fantasy temple.
Each wizard can attack in any of eight directions, while some possess special forms of magical attack. On your turn, choose which wizard will cast a spell, then resolve the attack against an opposing wizard or one of the temple’s four altars.
The altars are more than targets. Each one grants a unique power, creating important opportunities as you decide whether to challenge the enemy or claim an advantage for your own army. These powers can affect the battle in different ways, including movement or adding a new piece of the board.
- Lead an army of ten wizards.
- Attack across eight available directions.
- Cast spells against enemy wizards or four powerful altars.
- Use altar powers such as movement and adding a new board piece.
Magic can also change the balance of power directly. When a wizard casts a spell on an enemy wizard, that target is overwhelmed by magical forces and begins fighting for the attacking player. Every successful conversion brings you closer to controlling the entire conflict.
Victory in Witchcraft comes through domination or disruption. Get all enemy wizards fighting on your side, or leave your opponent unable to cast a spell on their turn. With directional attacks, special magical abilities, altar powers, and shifting loyalties, every decision helps shape the struggle inside the ruined temple.
