Planes in Flames is a World War II aircraft expansion for 2–6 players, with a listed play time of 240 minutes. It adds detailed aircraft counters, rules, and charts to World in Flames, expanding the experience with an extensive range of wartime machines.

The set includes 600 counters featuring aircraft from across the era. Familiar workhorses such as the Stuka, Spitfire, and Thunderbolt appear alongside less commonly seen designs and remarkable experimental aircraft.
