World of Warcraft: the Board Game is a team-based fantasy adventure for 2–6 players with a listed play time of 180 minutes. Based on Blizzard Entertainment’s popular World of Warcraft massively multiplayer online game, it places the Horde and the Alliance in a struggle for supremacy.

Begin by choosing from 16 characters drawn from the Warcraft universe’s eight races and nine character classes. Become a chivalrous paladin, wise shaman, holy priest, vile warlock, mighty mage, or crafty rogue, then take on the identity of a savage orc, mighty tauren, tribal troll, Forsaken undead, ingenious gnome, doughty dwarf, mysterious Night Elf, or noble human.

• Travel across Lordaeron and confront monsters.
• Gain experience and power as your character develops.
• Earn honor for your chosen faction.
• Compete as the Horde or Alliance in a team-based conflict.

The central challenge is a race to defeat an apparently invincible Overlord. Depending on the game, that enemy may be the lich Kel’Thuzad, the dragon Nefarian, or the demon Kazzak. Victory can come through defeating the Overlord first, but the contest has another possible conclusion.

If neither faction achieves that goal, the struggle becomes all-out war. In that case, the last faction standing wins. With its character choices, faction rivalry, exploration of Lordaeron, and escalating quest for experience, power, and honor, World of Warcraft: the Board Game brings the Warcraft universe to the tabletop.
