About this board game

World War 5 is a 15-minute game for 2–4 players in which you race to conquer another continent while maintaining a base in your own. Designed by Andrew Looney and released in 2008, it offers a compact take on the global conflict themes associated with Risk and Diplomacy.

The game uses components from Looney Labs, combining three Treehouse sets with a color-coded world map and six regular D6 dice. These elements provide the physical foundation for a contest focused on expansion, positioning, and the race to meet the victory condition first.

To win, you must achieve both parts of the central objective: establish control of another continent and continue maintaining a base on your home continent. The result is a clear, competitive challenge built around balancing outward conquest with a foothold at home.

  • For 2–4 players
  • 15-minute play time
  • Three Treehouse sets
  • A color-coded world map from Looney Labs
  • Six regular D6 dice

World War 5 is suited to players who enjoy the ideas behind classic territory-focused games but do not want a session that takes all day. Its stated goal is easy to understand, while the limited play time keeps the contest focused.

The game is also included in Pyramid Arcade, making it part of the broader collection associated with that release. Whether played as a quick standalone challenge or discovered through Pyramid Arcade, it presents a concise race for continental conquest.
