About this board game

Yucata is a simple movement game for 2–4 players, with plays lasting about 30 minutes. Featuring Mayan graphics, it challenges players to move a stone down a track while collecting stones along the way.

Each player has a hand of seven cards: cards numbered 1 through 5, plus two action cards. Use these cards to leapfrog your stone along the track, passing over stones that have been placed there at the start of the game.

As your stone moves, you collect the stones you pass. The collection is not automatically permanent, however. At the end of the game, stones are thrown away according to their color, leaving players to compare what remains.

  • For 2–4 players
  • Approximately 30 minutes of play
  • Seven cards per player: numbers 1–5 and two action cards
  • Leapfrog movement along a track
  • Initial stones to collect as players pass them
  • Multiple variants for the initial layout

The winner is the player with the most stones left after the color-based discards. Different initial layouts provide variants for setting up the track, giving Yucata several ways to begin its straightforward movement and collection system.

Yucata is also listed for turn-based online play. Whether played around a table or online, its central challenge remains clear: use the available cards to move efficiently, gather stones, and finish with the largest remaining collection.
