About this board game

Z3BRA is a card game for 2–5 players that plays in about 20 minutes. Match cards by color or number, create lines of three, and work toward the lowest final score.

To begin, each player receives fifteen cards. Without looking at them, they arrange nine cards face down in a personal 3×3 grid, then place their remaining six cards in a personal stack. This hidden layout gives every turn the potential to change what you know about your cards and your progress.

On your turn, draw a card from either the deck or the discard pile. You can exchange it with a card in your grid, placing the exchanged card face up on the discard pile. Alternatively, discard the drawn card to reveal one face-down card in your grid.

If you have the right card, you can also steal a card from another player’s grid. Whenever you form a row of three cards sharing the same color or number, discard those three cards and replace them with face-down cards from your personal stack. Matching rows can run vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.

  • Deal fifteen cards to each player.
  • Build a personal 3×3 grid and six-card stack.
  • Draw, exchange, discard, reveal, or steal cards.
  • Clear matching lines of three and replace them from your stack.

The game end is triggered when a player has discarded all fifteen cards or has every card in their grid face up. Each player then takes one final turn before tallying their remaining cards. In Z3BRA, the player with the lowest score wins.
