About this board game
Zimby Mojo is a 1–8 player cooperative-competitive strategy game with a play time of about 150 minutes. Each player commands a tribe of fierce, conniving zimbies and seeks to become the next Cannibal King.
The game unfolds in two distinct phases. First, rival shamans must cooperate to infiltrate the Cannibal King’s compound and activate a sigil that grants access to his sanctum. Once the King is killed, cooperation ends: every tribe competes to seize the fallen Crown and carry it safely back to its tribal board.
- Deploy zimbies onto the main board and coordinate with another tribe.
- Use mojo to move creatures and empower scrolls.
- Stack zimbies into powerful but slower columns.
- Fight the King, zombies, and thugs with simple one-die combat.
- Deliver the Crown to your tribal board before a rival tribe does.
Mojo is the energy behind movement and magic, but it comes at a cost. Shamans generate a small amount each turn, can draw additional mojo from zimbies on their tribal board, or even cannibalize their own followers for a greater supply. Depleted zimbies become useless for the remainder of the turn, while eaten ones are gone permanently.
Players can use scrolls for one-off rituals, lasting incantations, and fast witcheries. Movement, spawning, transforming zimbies into zombies, and combat are generally limited to a player’s turn, but mojo extraction and scroll use can occur on any player’s turn. At round’s end, the player with the most undepleted tribal-board zimbies becomes the next round’s first mover.
Zimby Mojo also includes a solo mode for one player. Defeat the Cannibal King, evade his thugs, and return the Crown within 12 turns—the more turns you take, the lower your score.
