About this board game

Zoo Vadis is a negotiation game for 3–7 players, playable in about 40 minutes, in which animal species campaign through a zoo hierarchy to reach the prestigious Star Exhibit.

What if the animals ran the zoo? In this politically charged contest, each species must win the majority support of animal voters to advance through the enclosures. Players bargain, form alliances, and pursue ruthless schemes while competing for fame, attention, and prestige from wide-eyed visitors.

The game ends immediately when the Star Exhibit is full. Only animals that have reached the exhibit can win, and the eventual Zoo Mascot is the player whose species has earned the most laurels from fans and rivals along the way.

  • Negotiation-driven play: Gain support through crafty politicking, clever deals, and strategic persuasion.
  • Asymmetric animal abilities: Different species expand the possibilities for negotiation and strategic planning.
  • Flexible player counts: Roaming, bribable peacocks enhance the 3-player game, while a second board supports 6–7 players.
  • More tactical choices: Special laurel tokens create additional opportunities during the contest.

Zoo Vadis evolves Reiner Knizia’s classic negotiation game, Quo Vadis?, while retaining its elegant political gameplay. Its vibrant zoo presentation by Kwanchai Moriya and Brigette Indelicato is complemented by chunky animal figures and functional player screens.

Every decision can shape the balance of support, the value of a deal, and the race for the Star Exhibit. With only the successful species eligible for victory, Zoo Vadis turns every negotiation into a fight for the zoo’s highest honor.
