About this board game
Zwergendorf is a dwarf draft-and-draw game for 1–4 players, with a play time of approximately 45 minutes. Build your own little dwarf village by collecting resource cards, placing them into your plan, and preparing for the clever production phases that follow.
Every resource can shape the development of your settlement. The dwarves use what you gather to create useful features for the village, so each decision matters. You must look ahead carefully, because the available forest clearing is limited and there may not be enough room for everything you want to build.
- Gold brings a new dwarf to the village.
- Stone builds a wall.
- A combination of wood, stone, and beer creates a tavern.
These production rules turn resource planning into the heart of the game. A card can represent more than a single immediate possibility: it can contribute to a combination, support a future building, or help make the most of your restricted building site. Miscalculate, and your village may not have the space or resources needed for your plans.
The villagers’ wishes also need to be taken into account. As you arrange resources and guide production, you are balancing practical construction with the needs of the inhabitants. This gives Zwergendorf a satisfying planning challenge within its compact village-building format.
With its blend of card drafting, resource management, production phases, and spatial planning, Zwergendorf asks you to think several steps ahead. Create a settlement that uses its clearing wisely, transforms resources into useful village features, and keeps its dwarf inhabitants in mind.
