About this board game

Relic Hunters is a 2022 board game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 50 minutes. In this expedition game, players use cards from their decks to move meeples across a grid of tiles and search an island for ancient relics.

The island’s relics are hidden, so exploration is central to every expedition. Move onto a tile to flip it and reveal what lies beneath: it may offer an immediate reward, lead to a dig site, or contain one of the relics needed to win. Dig sites require additional cards, and the first player to dig up the relics wins.

Building your deck helps direct your expedition. At the south of the island, expedition members are available to hire for coins, giving players a way to add more cards to their decks. If you have no coin, a little exploring can provide enough to hire help.

Players can choose to return to base camp to buy more cards for their decks. From there, they can direct their expedition north again, using their cards and meeples to continue uncovering the island’s hidden tiles.

The expedition centers on a clear set of interconnected actions:

• Use cards from your deck to move meeples across the grid.
• Flip each tile you enter to uncover rewards, dig sites, or relics.
• Spend coins at base camp to buy cards and hire expedition members.
• Dig up the relics before your competition.

With exploration, deck development, hidden discoveries, and a shared race toward the relics, Relic Hunters puts every expedition on a race to uncover ancient treasure first.
