About this board game

Winterhaven Woods is a strategic card-drafting and set-collection game for 1–6 players, played over three rounds in about 20 minutes.

Players prepare the animals of the forest to endure the long winter months. Plant trees to create woods, then populate those woods with creatures as you build your woodland throughout the game.

Each round begins with card drafting, followed by the chance to plant and populate. You can also collect predators in your meadow and use them to hunt creatures left exposed in players’ meadows, including creatures that other players are unable to populate.

Winterhaven Woods includes light player interaction each round. Steal cards can swipe cards from an opponent’s woods or meadow, but using too many steals brings a penalty, creating a balance between disruption and restraint.

After the third round, players total their scores along with any bonuses and penalties. The player with the most points wins, rewarding thoughtful drafting, effective woodland development, and well-timed use of predators and steals.
