Dictopia

About this board game

Dictopia is a fast-paced word game for 1–7 players that plays in about 15 minutes. Set in a dystopian world where language is watched and words are censored, it challenges you to create words and prove you have what it takes to join the Resistance.

The game is played over 5 rounds, with 90 seconds in each round. Every player has 8 cards, and each card shows 2 letters. Use the letters on your cards to form words before the round ends.

Every letter has eyes on it, and those eyes are central to scoring. Your words earn points through the letters you use, while additional bonus points are available for having the good number of eyes in a word.

• 1–7 players
• Approximately 15 minutes of play
• 5 rounds of 90 seconds
• 8 cards per player, with 2 letters on each card
• Bonus points for the good number of eyes and for completing special Resistance missions

Beyond building words, players can pursue the special missions of the Resistance for further bonuses. These missions add another objective to the word-making challenge, giving the five rounds more ways to score.

When the final round is complete, players total their points. The winner is the player with the most points, making Dictopia a compact contest of quick word creation, careful letter use, and timely Resistance objectives.
