About this board game

Yura Yura Penguin is a 2-6 player dexterity game that takes about 20 minutes to play, challenging players to empty their hands without tipping over the iceberg.

On each turn, players stack cards featuring different colors and symbols, along with cardboard cut-out standees. The card played by an opponent dictates what must be placed next, turning every move into a test of balance and tactics.

A newly played card must match either the color or the symbol of the previous card. This matching rule gives players a way to outwit one another while building an increasingly precarious stack.

• Play cards that match the previous card by color or symbol.
• Place the component demanded by an opponent’s card.
• Choose between large ice blocks, small penguins, and heavy ice crystals as the stack grows.

The main objective is simple: successfully play every card in your hand. The first player to empty their hand wins, rewarding careful placement and smart decisions throughout the game.

However, the iceberg can change the outcome in an instant. If a player knocks over the stack, the winner is the player holding the fewest cards, creating a final measure of hand management even when the structure collapses.
