About this board game

Dungeoneer: Den of the Wererats is a two-player card game for a 30-minute adventure, released in 2004. Players explore a city built with map cards while confronting monsters, completing quests, and leveling up.

A master wererat and his transformed minions hold the city in fear. Vermin, shapeshifters, thieves, and cutthroats lurk in the shadows, creating a sinister threat for heroes to face as they explore the evolving city.

Each player’s character ventures through the map while taking on the challenges presented by the game. Along the way, lycanthropic curses can transform opponents, adding a distinctive feature to this Dungeoneer set.

  • Explore a city created with map cards.
  • Fight monsters and complete quests.
  • Level up during the adventure.
  • Use lycanthropic curses to transform opponents.
  • Play with three new heroes: Darkling Thief, Human Alchemist, and Dwarf Guardian.

Den of the Wererats includes 55 new Dungeoneer cards, featuring city maps, curses, and heroes for your game. The set can be played on its own or combined with other decks in the Dungeoneer series for more dungeon-delving play.

With its focused two-player format and city-based setting, Dungeoneer: Den of the Wererats offers a compact card adventure centered on exploration, quests, combat, and the threat of transformation.
